Officers Farewell 2023

On 6 August, 2023 the college arranged a farewell dinner for four veteran Officers; Gp Capt Shahid Hafeez, Sqn Ldr Asif Niaz, Sqn Ldr Mohsin Usman and Sqn Ldr Muhammad Iqbal.
Gp Capt Shahid Hafeez joined the College on 15 March, 1992. Along with teaching, he has served the institution in various capacities. He has been appointed Housemaster Munir and Rafiqui House, Director Physical Education, O i/c Hobbies club, Head of Computer Department and Head of Sciences. On 6 April, 2021, he took over the responsibility of Vice Principal, and retired from his office in July 2023.

Sqn Ldr Asif Niaz has served the college for thirty long years. He joined as a Mathematics instructor. He also played a vital role as Housemaster Yunus and Rafiqui House. He was O i/c Examinations Section and Head of Mathematics department as well. Over a span of thirty years in the College, he rendered many services as a vital faculty member.

Sqn Ldr Mahar Muhammad Iqbal joined PAF College Sargodha as an Urdu instructor, since then, he has taken charge of different responsibilities which he performed up to the mark. He was firstly appointed Assistant Housemaster of Yunus House and then he was given the charge of sports section. As O i/c sports section he prepared Pre-Cadets for Founders’ Day 2023. He has trained the Pre-Cadets in Martial Arts for seventeen years.

Sqn Ldr Mohsin joined PAF College Sargodha as Mess Manager. He was also Officer In charge of College MT Flight and O i/c Training. He served the institution with full zeal and his dedication was admirable.
The Principal, AVM Asif Maqsood, HI (M), (Retd) appreciated the retiring officers for their vast and dedicated services to the institution. They were awarded College Crest by the Principal.

51ST ENTRY FAREWELL & ANNOUNCEMENTS OF NEW APPOINTMENTS

On 02 June, 2023 a farewell dinner was arranged in Abdul Rehman Auditorium to bid adieu to the graduating 51st entry of the College. Air Vice Marshal Asif Maqsood HI (M), (Retd), Principal PAF College Sargodha, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mubashir Khan (3944-A) started the proceedings of the function with recitation from the Holy Quran. Ashjah Ali (3867-R) shared sweet and cherishable memories of their 4 year long association with their outgoing senior bhaijans. In his farewell speech, Bassam Abid (3838-R), the outgoing Head boy on the behalf of his entry expressed immense gratitude on to the Alma Mater for training them from small shy boys to mentally and physically groomed youth that is ready to take up future responsibilities. The outgoing entry boys were given souvenirs and SOBA certificates. Compares of the evening, Zulaqarnain Abbas (3893-Y) & Abdullah Waqas (3902-A) amused all with their apt and lively comments as each 51st entry boy came to receive his Gliding certificate, Merit certificate and memento.
Expressing his views on the occasion, Air Vice Marshal Asif Maqsood HI (M), (Retd), the Principal, congratulated 51st Entry on the successful completion of their training at the College. He heartily appreciated their individual and collective excellent achievements in different domains of training. He wished them all the best in their future endeavors, and advised them to always uphold their moral, cultural and professional values, they had acquired during their five year stay at the College. The Vice Principal, Gp Capt M Shahid Hafeez then announced the new College appointments. Muhammad Haris (3905-M) has been appointed the new College Head Boy. Abdullah Waqas (3902-A), Hamid Ali Khan (3928-Ad), Jawad Hussain (3887-I), Haider Ali (3777-M), Yahya Hafeez (3878-R) and Umar Mehboob (3871-Y) have been appointed House Captains of their respective houses.
Later the outgoing Head Boy handed over the HeadBoy Cane to the New Head Boy. The Chief Guest gave away commemorative Head Boy Cane to the outgoing Head boy. At the end, the Principal addressed the audience and congratulated the new batch of command and wished luck to the outgoing entry.

MUNIRITES LIFT QUIZ TROPHY

Quiz Competitions are instrumental in enhancing mental resilience and self-reliance. To ensure the same, the Pak-Studies Department holds written General Knowledge tests once each term and an annual Inter House Oral Quiz Competition. This year the Quiz Competition was held on 30 January, 2023. In junior category, Usman (4035-Y) won the title of the ‘Junior Quiz Master’, Saad (4061-Ad) stood second and Hussain (4124-R) grabbed third position. In senior Category, Yahya Hafeez (3878-R) won the coveted title of the ‘Quiz Master of the Year’, Zain (3924-I) clinched the second position whereas Abdul Moeed (3808-R) grabbed the third position. The runners up were the Rafiquians. It is worth mentioning that this year the Munirites lifted the Quiz trophy for the fourth consecutive year. The Vice Principal, Gp Capt M. Shahid Hafeez gave away the prizes to the winners and appreciated their performance.

ANNUAL JAM COMPETITION

The annual ‘Just a Minute’ (JAM) competition concluded with its grand finale on 07 February 2023. Inspired by BBC Radio 4’s program, this event aims to improve the speaking skills of Pre-Cadets. Contestants must speak on a given subject for one minute without hesitation, repetition, or deviation. The competition also includes a segment where participants speak uninterrupted for one minute. The rules of the game for the College have been formulated and finalized by F/L Ali Abbass of the English Department. He, being the Oi/c Jam Competition also conducted the grand finale of the JAM competition 2023. The jury of appeal was Head of English Department Sqn Ldr Ishfaq Ahmed. The Judges were Flt Lt Feroza and Flg Off Abdur Rehman. This year, 10 Pre-Cadets qualified in Intra-Entry Competition and made it to the grand finale. Areeb Junaid (3810-I), Zain Sarfraz (3924-I), Zain-ul-Abedin (3965-Y), A. Kabeer (3945-R), Ayaz (4008-I), Teham (3994-M), Moawiz (4069-M), Taha Ikram (4029-I), Irteza (4030-A) and M. Saim (4171-I) qualified as the JAM finalists. Overall, the JAM trophy was lifted by Iqbal House, whereas Munir House stood runner-up. Areeb Junaid (3810-I) proved himself worthy of the ‘Jam King’ title for the year 2022-23. Air Vice Marshal Asif Maqsood HI (M) (Retd), Principal PAF College Sargodha, gave away the prizes to the recipients and appreciated the organizing team of the competition.

HOBBIES COMPETITION 2023

The College Hobbies Club successfully organized its Annual Intra-Club Competitions from 18-20 February, 2023. In the Woodworks Club, first position was grabbed by Fareed (19039-I) for constructing a model of a Naval ship. In Photography Club, Pre-Cadet Asneef (3903-I) stood 1st whereas in Aeromodelling Club, Ali Hanan (3797-R) was declared the Best Aeromodeller of the year. In painting and Digital Arts Contests,Sarmad (3947-R) and Hamid (3928-Ad) got 1st positions respectively. Umer Hasan (3823-Y) got 1st position in Calligraphy whilst in Clay Modelling, Pre-Cadets Ashjah (3867-R), Waleed (3855-R), Umair (3927-R) and Ali Babar (3862-R) stood 1st. Pre-Cadet Subhan Ali (3791-I) was declared the Best Singer of the year. Haroon (3776-I) won the title of “Best Sketchiest”. In recognition of the enthusiastic involvement in variousClubs over the past four years, Umer Hasan (3823-Y) was declared the “Best Hobbyist” of the year 2022-23.
